Bobby Davro sings with Elmbridge Big Band |
|
Our 1,000 plus audience at our ‘Sing It! Sing It' charity concert which was held at Woking's New Victoria Theatre on Saturday 29th October 2011 were treated to a surprise appearance by Bobby Davro
who sang "New York, New York" with our Big Band.
We are pleased to present some video clips from the concert where our audience was treated to an evening of lively, high-class musical entertainment from Elmbridge Music's two choirs and two bands.
The concert was hosted by ex-radio DJs Ed ‘Stewpot' Stewart and Paul Burnett, whose light-hearted and witty banter kept the audience thoroughly entertained between acts.
We hope you enjoy these clips! Write Comment (0 comments) |

Welcome to the Elmbridge Community Big Band! |
Thank you for visiting our website. We hope that you will find
these pages inspiring and full of useful information about our band and
what we strive to achieve within our community.
The Elmbridge Community Big Band is a non-auditioned, non-profit
community society formed in August 2009 by the founder of the well
known Elmbridge Choir and Elmbridge Ladies Choir - Cliff van Tonder.
Our mission is to inspire music lovers from all walks within the
greater Elmbridge community to join together to make music to not only
develop their own music skills but to share the fruit of these skills
to make a difference within the community.
Over the last 4 years the Elmbridge Choirs have raised in excess of £80,000 for charities and the Big Band has already performed at various concerts since it's inception in August 2009, so helping deserving charities raise much needed funds. Most exciting, the Big Band has also performed alongside and together with both the Elmbridge Choir and Ladies Choir at charity concerts. Some Big Band members also have an opportunity to mentor and play with our newest section, the Elmbridge Young Musicians, a band of around 36 young children between the ages of 7 and 14.
Joining the Big Band is easy - all you need is desire to make a difference in your community, a sense of fun, play any of the Big Band instruments and preferably be able to read music. Most of all, you must want to be part of a band and be able to commit to regular Tuesday evening rehearsals.
